| Cygnal Technologies’ Communication Services Group signs distribution agreement with Optelecom |
| Division to market communications products through its dealer network |

OSHAWA, Ontario -- Cygnal Technologies Corporation (TSE: CYN), Canada’s leading communications network service provider, announced today that its Communication Services Group has signed a distribution agreement with Optelecom Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTC), a manufacturer of high-bandwidth, fiber optic-based communications systems, business video systems and financial market data information systems.
Cygnal’s Communication Services Group is currently the sole distributor of Optelecom products in the Canadian marketplace. Under the terms of the agreement, the Communication Services Group will distribute and market selected Optelecom communications products through its nation-wide network of dealers. Optelecom products are used to transport data, video and audio signals over high-speed Internet, Ethernet and fiber optics cables. The company has enjoyed particular success in the transportation, broadcasting, government, security and surveillance industries, where delivery of multimedia content over dedicated and shared networks is a requirement.
